Discipline: Athletics - 800m

Bio

My first experience and enjoyment of running was as a 5-year-old running the feed loop run in farm boots, on my family’s farm alongside my mum’s ute. I started Little Athletics aged 7 with Geelong Guild and have never looked back since.

As a junior I won Victorian State Titles in the 100m, 200m and 400m. By age 15 I had run 56.47 in the 400m, and at 16 I won the 2016 U17 National 400m title in 55.50.

Between the ages of 17-20 I would only compete for athletics occasionally due to illness and injury, a time in which I sought the guidance of My Physio Evolution. The dream always stayed alive returning to full training in late 2020. A 800m relay leg at the Victorian State Relay Champs in early 2021 bought about a sudden shift in event and focus. Having shown some potential I ventured out for my first 800m at Vic milers clocking 2:11.62, three weeks later lowering that to 2:06.72 when winning bronze at the State Championships. One month later then sealing the transition to 800 when I ran 2:03.00 at Brisbane track classic at just my third 800m race. My 2022 campaign was fully invested, winning national bronze and lowering my 800m PB to 2.02.64 and 400m PB to 54.04. I would go on to win the Oceania 800m title before venturing to Europe where I would experience my first international racing lowering my PB over 800m to 2:01.4 at my second European race.
