Real-time Ultrasound is a specialised skill which provides visual feedback for the patient and the physiotherapist about muscle function. It is used in a non-invasive way to assess the pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscle function.
This is extremely useful in patients with long term back pain as well as pelvic floor disorders which manifest as incontinence or pelvic pain disorders. It is also extremely useful in the sporting population for conditions such as Osteitis Pubis or abdominal hernias.
Many of our physiotherapists are expert technicians in this apparatus and appointments can be made directly with them or referral from your doctor or specialist.
